One for Playwrights

The Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre's Local Stages Program is an initiative to encourage the growth of the performing arts in Bathurst. The Rehearsed Readings Program is intended to provide playwrights with the opportunity to have their work read by professional actors and with professional direction. It is envisaged that a maximum of 3 scripts will be selected for this development in this round. Selection criteria: rehearsed readings will have limited technical support (basic lighting and sound only) for the public showing. The application is made by individuals or groups with a demonstrable local connection. Projects should be innovative by nature. They should aspire to relate to audiences in the Bathurst Region by striking their imaginations, touching their emotions and stretching their perceptions. Please provide the following information with your script: 1. Name, Phone, Mobile, Email. 2. Brief outline on what you would like to achieve through the rehearsed reading process. 3. Summary/synopsis of the play. Be quick applications close on 7 April. For more information contact the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, William Street, PMB 17 Bathurst NSW 2795.
