Alan Marshall Short Story Award

Entries are now open for the Alan Marshall Short Story Award. The 2009 judge for the Award is Sophie Cunningham (author of Geography and Bird and editor of Meanjin). There is the Open Section with $2000 first prize and $1000 second prize for stories up to 2500 words. In the Local Section the prize is $1000 for stories up to 2500 words by writers who live, work or study in the Shire of Nillumbik and the Young Section has a $400 prize for stories up to 1000 words by writers aged between 15 and 19 years.
